What is the Paint-A-Bait Contest?
This annual painting contest is mean to be a fun and friendly networking activity, and a great way to showcase your lure painting abilities or artistic touch. Anybody can join and anybody can vote!
Who can enter?
Anyone! You do not need to be a lure-maker, or painter. We welcome hobby airbrush artists, painters of any sort, or beginners to participate. Again, this is meant to provide a positive atmosphere for participants to network and to enjoy some friendly and supportive competition. Any negative comments or posts will not be tolerated.
How do I enter?
To enter you will need to purchase blanks from www.JohnstonLureCompany.com – the blanks are discounted from now till the end of January. They may be painted and finished in any fashion; you can finish them however you want! All we need is a single photo of the lure – there are absolutely zero obligations to enter after purchase – again it’s meant to be stress free. You can enter the Toothache category and/or the Perch category - One entry per individual, per category. Photos must be emailed to JohnstonLures@live.ca by February 28th, 2019 with the following information: Your name (and/or company name), colour/pattern name, along with your Instagram username (in order to be tagged during judging). Voting will take place on both our Facebook and Instagram sites – stay tuned for details!
How does voting work?
Voting takes place through both the Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/johnstonlurecompany) and Instagram (@johnstonlurecompany). Each photo will be posted at random on Instagram; 1 Like = 1 vote.
On Facebook: All entries from all participants will be posted as an album at random. Individual photos within the album can be liked; 1 Like = 1 Vote.
To win: The photo of the lure with the most votes (‘Likes’) wins: Instagram Likes + Facebook Picture Likes = Total Number of Votes. It’s that easy! Vote for one, a couple, or all!
The prize will be 15 blanks for each winner, in each category; not to mention bragging rights for an entire year! Again, this is meant to be enjoyable – should you have any further questions feel free to email!
